Van's Aircraft RV-12iS and iST

RV-12 AOA Indicator

RV-12 AOA INDICATOR

Van’s Aircraft has developed an Angle of Attack (AOA) installation kit for the RV-12. All owners of RV- 12s are strongly encouraged to purchase and install the kit (Order: RV-12 AOA RETRO KIT). The kit is inexpensive and simple, using a single open rivet strategically positioned on the wing leading edge to function as a pressure source for AOA computation and display. The kit will work to display AOA on the D-180, SkyView, and G3X EFIS systems. Kits or flying airplanes with the pre-2012 VA-262 Terminal Tab electrical connectors between the wing and fuselage will require an upgrade to the current connectors (Order: 12 WING WIRE CONNECT). Parts to install the AOA will be included in Finish kits shipped from February 1, 2017.
For further installation details, download Notification N 16-12-14 from the RV-12 Service Information page of the Van’s Aircraft web site.
